Figueira da Foz is a Portuguese city in the district of Coimbra, located in the province of Beira Litoral, in the Centro region (Beiras Region) and in the Region of Coimbra sub-region, and located at the mouth of the Mondego River with the Atlantic Ocean. It is the second largest city in the district of Coimbra, with about 28 000 inhabitants. She was known as "Queen of the Beaches of Portugal". Recently, Cabo Mondego, on the promontory known as Serra da Boa Viagem, on the outskirts of Figueira da Foz, was declared a National Natural Monument.
