Ninh Binh: One of Vietnam's most Beautiful Rural Regions

The 2017 film Kong: Skull Island has many scenes filmed in the area, and its easy to see why the location was picked for the film. With the sheer cliffs plunging straight into the water and the tranquility broken only by the far off call of birds, its the perfect spot to feel transported back to prehistory.

Our first stop in Ninh Binh is the Lying Dragon Mountain in the region of Tam Coc. This cost us £3.60 to enter with a 30p charge to park the bike, this scenic climb takes you up to two different viewpoints and is worth the small fee. The small park like area below is also a good spot to rest and catch your breath after climbing the steps in the sun.

The following day, we took a boat trip round the Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex. This relaxing boat ride will set you back £8.80 and gives you a unique experience being rowed round multiple temples and through caves. The whole journey took about 3 hours so you should take suncream if its a sunny day.

We then visited Bích động Pogada which is a lovely small temple that is free to enter but parking your bike is about 50p. The main attraction for us at this spot was actualy the picturesque gardens around the back of the temple that we found so serene and quiet we stayed there for much longer than expected.
